Old & Alone 03:36
I learned a lesson on the day I met love. That pain and heartache was all that it was. And when I'm near you and I look into your eyes, I find assurance in knowing I'm the prize. We can go to the movies or a walk in the park. I'll hold your hand while you juggle with my heart. See, you're no different then these men that you detest. They grab your heart, then they rip it out your chest. Tie it to a rope, then they wear it around their necks. So when the choice is me or you, I know that I'm the best. I've spent a lifetime believing love is out there but people like you are the reason I'm scared. I want your spirit but you wanna steal my soul. So I'd rather die, growing old and alone. So next time I see you, I will only say 'hi'. Cause that is better than a hearbreak, this is goodbye.

Well I never was an Indiana boy, but I lived there just the same, growing up in the small town of Kokomo. It's where I got wild and I ran amuck, I found my faith, I lost true love. All the people there that loved me most, they knew my heart, they gave me hope. I pray that for me they'd say the same! Well now I'm here in a whole new world with a different point of view. I won't forget where these songs come from and where they'll take me too! I've spent my life chasing my own dreams, and I've been asking "why? What does all it mean?" As I reminisce on the things I've done, I know that in my heart, Indiana's where I'm from! When the weekend came, we'd all pack up, we'd find a place to try our luck. At a party, at a bar, or at a show. And every Sunday afternoon, that whole town would be painted blue. Cheering for the boys, and Peyton too! But when Monday came, it was time grind, with our eyes on Christmas time, providing for me, hers, ours, and mine. No I won't forget how those winters feel and those gravel country roads. Here's to all the Hoosiers out there that proudly call it home! Where you from?

Head full of fire and a heart filled with hate. A child so unloved so through music he escapes. He loves the kinda songs that holler in your face, and he'll gladly take a beating to the songs when they are played. His mama wanted different but her man would always say, "son, you won't amount to nothing cause you've got shitferbrains!" I remember all the venues where the bands would play those songs. He'd be right up front just-a singing along. A stage dive and a high five, we'd love to watch him dance. The nicest guy you'd meet, still a kid without no plans. His teachers called him different boy, and they would always say, "son, you won't amount to nothing cause you've got shitferbrains!" Oh I wonder about the difference, in his life what would it make, if his parents and his teachers would change the words that they'd say? Cause we are all just people looking for our way. We need a hand to hold and a light to guide our way. They say we won't amount to nothing if we've got shitferbrains. It's eleven years later, he's now turning twenty-one. All his friends went off to college, something he wished he could've done. It would've made his mama gladly say, "I'm proud of you son!". And the words of that man would've finally come undone. Instead he pulled the trigger, he left a letter that would say, "I won't amount to nothing cause I've got shitferbrains." I know I won't amount to nothing cause I've got shitferbrains.

Here inside these walls of where I lay my head are memories of my soul, and the dreams that I have made. Some, they live for fame, and some they live for fun. Some, they live fortune, and some, you know that they live for sun. So the choices that they make, intend to lead them on the way so that they can celebrate this dream that they have made. All mankind is searching for a way to make sense of this place All mankind is hurting but when don't fell no pain when life is but a dream. We say "hands up don't shoot" yet feed poison to the youth. And when we criticize we show our hatred for the truth. And I know that we can't all, we can't agree to disagree, but the beauty of that world is quite the fantasy. So I sing this song about a world I'd like to see, and while I'm in this Earth, it is the dream that sets me free.

Dear Ruby, 08:52
There's a letter in her mailbox with no return address, so she's open it right there to see what it says, and she smiles real big cause she never knew. Now he's miles from the river and the life that he's known. He's strumming that guitar and singing at them shows, and one thing he knows. He's gonna make it too. The words in that letter make her heart leap for joy, and when he writes them, it drowns out the knows. But when he gets home, there is only one face he wants to see. So he writes "Dear Ruby, oh Ruby you are dear to me. See these roads they get longer, and the shows they get dull. But I think of your smile and I am filled up with love. I never told you what I saw in your eyes. How your red curly hair calms me inside. Now I have one question will you give me the truth, cause I want to see you, I hope you do too, oh Miss Ruby, can I come home to you? When he steps on that stage the women go wild. They scream, "come home to me boy and give me your child!" But he thinks of that one, and she makes him smile. Behind the pine, she sells Jack and Jim, and the men at that bar say come home with them, but she thinks of his letters. She only wants him. The words in those letters make her heart leap for joy, and when he writes them it drowns out the noise, but when he gets home there is only one face he wants to see. So he writes, "Dear Ruby, oh Ruby you are dear to me." There's a letter in her mailbox with no return address, so she opens it right there to read what it says, and her eyes get real big. She can't believe the news. Now he's miles from the river, and the life that he's known. Surrounded by guitars and pictures from his shows. While his family and friends say their goodbyes. The words in that letter make her heart fall apart and just what he wrote it came straight from his heart. He's not coming home, but he still needs her to see. So he writes "Dear Ruby, oh Ruby you are dear to me." See these roads they get longer and the shows they get dull, but I think of your smile and I am filled up with love. I never told you what I saw in your eyes. How that red curly hair calms me inside. Now I have to tell you, and its a sad truth, cause I want to see you, I know you do too! Oh Miss Ruby, I'm not coming home to you. No, Dear Ruby, I'm not coming home to you. Whoa, Dear Ruby, he's not coming home to you.

It's cloudy in my mind when I look back in time, the day you made me feel like a boy should never feel. I was immature and impressioned upon, you are immature and impressioned upon. So here's my final cry, I'm ready to move on. Oh the memories I forget are the memories I resent. Why can't the people that I hate, be the people that I love? And at times it's pretty hard to be alone all by yourself. This misconception has got us all so fooled. If you had a heart, you'd see the pain you've caused, and how you've torn my world apart. You've torn my world apart and I can't decide if I want to keep this life cause the innocence you stole empties out my soul. So let this here be known. I declare you heart deceased, I declare your mind diseased. Oh the memories I forget are the memories I resent. Why can't the people that I love be the people that I love? And at times it's pretty hard to be alone all by yourself. This misconception has got us all so fooled.

From the smile to the look in your eyes, I could tell that you weren't surprised, and that you had no clue. Now I'm standing here just lost in myself. Now I know that you don't care if I fail. And all those little things that we said mean so much, are no just memories of nothing. I'll take a stand but take a shot for myself. I'll help you out but take some shine for myself. I just want to hold your hand. I've had enough when the love is so deep. It's enough when you're not loving me and other things satisfy. And all those little things that we said mean so much are now just memories of nothing. And All those nights we spent where we just wasted time, are nightmares when I sleep because of you.

Mama Tried 03:58
(Raise. A. Man. Huh!) Mama raise your baby high. Hold him up to the sky. Mama raise your baby high, let Jehovah see your pride. Mama raise your baby high. Mama show that little boy, how his presence brings you joy. Mama show that little boy how his presence brings you joy. Mama show that little boy. Teach him how to treat the girls. Teach him how to treat the girls. Teach him how to treat the girls. Teach him how to treat the girls. Make him an hones man. Do the best that you can. Make him an honest man. Do the best that you can. Make him an honest man. Show him how to love his wife. Teach him not to leave her side. Show him how to love his wife. Teach him not to leave her side. Show him how to love his wife. Now teach him how to be a man. Teach him how to be a man. Teach him how to be a man. Teach him how to be a man. Teach him how to be a man. Yeah yeah yeah. Oh oh oh oh oh ooh. Mama tried to raise a man. Did the best that she can. Mama tried to raise a man, did the best that she can. Mama tried to raise man. Mama tried to raise a man without a single helping hand, mama tried to raise a man.

Disappear 14:21
Cherry bombs and chocolate hearts, ones for love which ends in scars. The other makes for fun with friends and it leaves you smiles in the end. We talk about this life we live, in a world so dark yet confident. That we're alright and know it all, but we're losing hope as we fall. And one thing I know. One thing I see. Love is a lie and life is a dream but pain makes them real and hearts really break. I've made my mistakes, I am just one to take from the hope that I fear and the dreams that are near. I just want to find a way to disappear. I remember when she said to me, "my love for you is ceasing, see I've played the fool and your heart and now it's time to just depart." Feeling pain inside my soul and a hatred I had never known, I reached up for that juice of life but instead of smile it made me cry. My tears remind me of who you are and who you'll be. I've made a mistake trying to be someone, yet no one, that you need.
